Purpose of the job

Working closely with the Development, Delivery and Coaching Teams, the post holder will ensure that the City Gateway apprenticeship and traineeship placements are delivered effectively and with excellence for both students and employers.

As the account manager for our employer partners; this will involve co-ordinating the recruitment process for placement opportunities, liaising with employers throughout the term of the placement, ensuring that the student completes within specified time frame and enables the young person to achieve their goals. The post holder will be responsible for promoting City Gateway as a partner and securing repeat placements with employers through excellent relationship management & championing the employer voice within the organisation.

Duties and responsibilities

Employer Account Management:

    • Act as first point of contact for employer partners
    • Liaise with employers via phone, email and face to face meetings to ensure effective management of placements and volunteering.
    • Assist employers when necessary in managing students in either work placements or apprenticeships.
    • Provide employers with information about our placement programmes, volunteering and other opportunities, keeping them updated of any changes to the delivery or guidance.
    • Ensure contact with employers if recorded and shared with the wider organisation for accurate data, corporate engagement and excellent customer care leading to repeat business.
    • Work alongside the Business Development Manager and Fundraising Teams to research leads and maximise partner engagement across volunteering, funding and learner placements.

Apprenticeship/Traineeship Recruitment:

    • Co-ordinate the recruitment process including:
    • Informing the Delivery and Coaching Team of upcoming job opportunities.
    • Securing paperwork from employers and negotiating recruitment timelines from employers.
    • Co-ordinating applications through the delivery teams to ensure an appropriate number of suitable candidates are put forward for each opportunity.
    • Sharing CV’s, Cover Letters and other materials with employers.
    • Scheduling interviews for candidates and ensuring they and their job coaches have the information needed.
    • Gathering and sharing feedback from interviews with the Coaching Team.
    • Secure contracts and paperwork for all placements and job starts, working alongside the apprenticeship coach to ensure learners are successfully inducted.

Reporting and Data Management:

    • Co-ordinate the DBS, Data capture, Safeguarding and Health & Safety Checks with employers and learners adhering to the City Gateway policies and procedures.
    • Produce regular, timely reports on employer engagement including risk factors to ensure the on boarding of learners meets relevant legislation requirements.
    • Work with the coaching and delivery teams to monitor the safeguarding of learners on placement or in employment and report any safeguarding concerns to the organisation’s Safeguarding Lead.
    • Co-ordinate the employer satisfaction survey to help monitor the organisation’s service level standards to our partners.
    • Working with the Marketing & Outreach Team to produce marketing materials for employers and secure their buy-in to generate success stories to add value and impact for marketing and fundraising purposes.
