Temporary part-time contract – immediate availability until 18th September


Job purpose

This role is to provide support to the outreach and admissions team with on-boarding new learners on to education courses with City Gateway by undertaking engagement phone calls. As the first point of contact for many of our potential learners this role needs to provide excellent customer service, engaging young people who have applied for a course with City Gateway and converting them to start on one of our courses.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Outgoing customer service calls to young people who have applied for one of our courses, welcoming them to City Gateway, checking eligibility against set criteria, answering queries and ultimately promoting City Gateway and the courses we offer.
  • Booking potential learners on to Introduction sessions and Welcome days and then communicating the outcome for their first day of course.
  • Sending emails to confirm conversations held or to share information where calls have been unsuccessful.
  • Responding to inbound queries (either via phone, email or text).
  • Accurately recording outcomes of calls to ensure these can be effectively reported on to a database.
  • Assisting the wider team during introduction sessions, to greet young people, sign them in and answer queries.
