Purpose of the job:

To secure and develop funding from new and existing Corporate Foundations, Trusts, Grants and Statutory Funding to achieve ambitious targets. Working with the Development Director to create an exceptional partnership experience for all our funders through skilled account management and compelling reporting leading to sustainable income and other key resources for our charity.

Duties and responsibilities:

– Proactively secure income against targets, primarily from across Corporate Foundations, Trusts, Grants and Statutory. Strategically managing your time and results across the income streams.
– Achieve results through:
1. Effective research or networking to identify suitable prospective funders for the pipeline.
2. Creating compelling applications and follow up materials to secure the funding.
3. Maintaining excellent relationships with existing funders, providing timely reporting and an exceptional customer experience leading to sustained and renewed funding.
– Work closely with the wider partnerships team to ensure strategic and joined up approaches to partners who may engage with us on multiple areas and seek crossover opportunities for City Gateway such as Pro Bono support, volunteering and apprenticeships.
– Work with the Development Director and CEO ensuring their time is used strategically with partners. Support the Development Director with Pitches, Events, volunteering and HNWI as required.
– Develop an in-depth knowledge of our programmes, students and strategy in order to effectively communicate our stories and impact to partners and identify strategic funding opportunities.
– Be the lead bid writer for all statutory applications, drawing on support from key members of the team as appropriate.
– Lead on developing partnerships across the statutory sector, securing funding from public sector funders and consortium funding bids.
– Build strong relationships with the education delivery teams to arrange volunteering opportunities for our partners that serve the organisation’s needs and build stronger relationships with the partners.
– Maintain accurate, timely and detailed records of your activity on the shared database and at all times uphold our standards for customer service to partners.
– Prepare regular reports on progress against target and key opportunities or partner activity.
