At City Gateway we are successfully delivering a quality Route to Employment programme that gives young people the employability skills and maths and/or English functional skills level 2 qualifications they need. What we do works. In fact we have supported our learners to achieve a 76% achievement rate.
But we are facing challenges in terms of our ability to support all those who need us. The demand for our courses has increased 46% year on year.
We are also seeing more young people coming to us with lower lever prior attainment – almost one third are below entry level 3, which is the equivalent to age 7-11 learning, in the critical areas of maths and/or English.
This means not only is there an urgent need to support more young people than ever before, but we need to provide additional classroom and pastoral support to move them from their low-level entry point to achieve a successful outcome.
This is putting pressure on our services and we urgently need your support to help us meet this demand.
Release the pressure, donate now and invest in our future workforce.
