As we remain under lockdown while the impact of Coronavirus is felt across the globe, we hope all our learners, staff, supporters and partners are keeping well and coping ok. Staying at home is the single most important thing we can all do right now and we really appreciate everyone’s efforts in doing this.
As we continue to see the impact of the virus, we have been continually reviewing how best we can support both our staff and learners alike. We remain, as always, entirely committed to supporting all the women and young people we work with to achieve their goals and ambitions. And we want to ensure we are doing that in the most effective way. As a result, we have had to make some changes to our programme of delivery.
/ what’s changing?
Unfortunately we have had to make the difficult decision to pause our English and maths classes for the time being. We have trialled delivering these classes online but we don’t feel the pressure and challenges that is putting on our learners is fair or beneficial to their development. While we don’t know exactly when we may be back teaching face to face, we are committed to delivering a more intense programme of teaching, hopefully over the summer months, to ensure every learner is able to complete the qualifications they have started. We will update all learners regularly as we monitor, and respond to, Government advice.
/ what’s continuing?
We understand that this is a very difficult and challenging time for everyone and we are absolutely committed to supporting our learners through this. As such our coaching programme is continuing. We will support learners with personal development and will be advising on tasks and activities to help support this over the coming weeks, as well as general support to help with any feelings or challenges our learners may be facing with the current situation. Our coaching team will be in contact with learners and learners are welcome to call coaches whenever they need.

/ connecting with us
With the necessary changes that have come about as a result of not being able to deliver our programmes as we normally would, we have taken the decision to furlough some of our staff members for the next few weeks. That said, we are absolutely still ‘open’ and have staff available to help in any way we can, either over the phone, on text or by email.
- If you are an existing learner please do get in touch with your coach for support, they really want to help you and are there to provide the support you need.
- If you are a parent/relative/friend and have any questions please do email us at info@citygateway.org.uk
- We would like to encourage anyone and everyone to follow us on our social media channels where we are posting regular updates as well as encouragement and motivation for us all. You can find all the links to follow us here >
Lastly thank you to everyone for their understanding during what are exceptional circumstances for us all. We remain entirely committed to supporting all our learners, and will continue to help them achieve their goals and ambitions.
