Purpose of the job:

The primary role of the Coaching Manager is to ensure that each learner progresses into a sustained outcome in further Education, Employment or Training (EET). They will strategically develop and manage the coaching team and champion coaching across the organisation, ensuring it is both responsive to learner need and supporting the wider organisations mission to see learners fulfil their potential.

Coaching is currently a significant USP for City Gateway and we want this to continue to be developed and led strategically.

Duties and responsibilities
● The Coaching Manager will work closely with the Director of Programmes to review and agree a strategy for delivering excellence in the coaching programme across all delivery programmes and for all students and will report regularly on the progress of their team to the Senior Leadership Team
● Ensure that all learners achieve a positive EET (education, training and employment) outcome within 90 days of graduating from City Gateway
● Maintain and manage an up to date personal caseload of learners and support them with their progression from City Gateway programmes.
● Effectively manage and develop direct reports ensuring that all members have robust objectives in place and deliver with excellence against these objectives.
● Working closely with the Head of Curriculum and Employability Tutor to ensure that coaching sessions, enrichment and the employability curriculum is working together to respond to learner needs
● This role will work with the data team to ensure that the full coaching programme is integrated onto the MIS system and can generate required impact reports.
● Attend weekly case review meetings with wider delivery teams to ensure that information held by the coaching team is shared and actions agreed are then completed to support the delivery of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
● Document and evidence coaching conducted with each assigned learner and ensure the coaching team are doing the same (utilising the MIS system) against both the banding and personal capabilities framework
● Assess the strengths and needs of the individuals through a combination of Initial Assessments and review them on a regular basis to track and monitor progression and distance travelled.
● Support and deliver Gateway and Employability sessions as required
● Deliver enrichment activities and extracurricular activities that will assist learners in achieving a positive EET outcome.
● Support with learner attendance / punctuality in employment, in lessons, OTJ and other training
● Ensure all contractual and accredited delivery, reporting and evidence is completed efficiently and in a timely manner
● Ensure that individuals meet the required outcomes of improved behaviour, improved attendance and a sustained transition to further education, employment or vocational training, continually driving their work readiness
● Represent the progression coaches when invited to Senior Leadership Team meetings.
● Support the wider team during recruitment and enrolment onto all City Gateway Programmes
● Programme quality & standards – to ensure that delivery of the City Gateway coaching meets the required standards of excellence.
● Post-holder will actively follow City Gateway policies
● Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager or Director of Department
