City Gateway’s training and apprenticeship programme prepares young people aged 16–24 for employment through training, coaching, work experience and apprenticeships with top employers.

Our Route to Work course, a government funded traineeship, will give you the relevant work experience, employability skills, maths and English qualifications you need to progress into work or on to one of our apprenticeships.

Our Office Based Apprenticeships, with some of the top employers in the City, are in areas such as administration, customer service specialist, team leader/supervisor and departmental manager.

If you’re unsure what you want to do or where to start we can help with a bit of inspiration from someone who has been in the same position as you. Our apprentice Shayon secured a placement with NSPCC, watch this video to learn more:

/   is City Gateway right for me?

We believe that, no matter what challenges you have faced, we can help you achieve your potential. So whether you struggle with mental health challenges or low self-confidence, or maybe you have been in care or have financial difficulties in your family, we can support you; in fact we have supported hundreds of young people to overcome these challenges and change their futures.

If you’re aged 16-24, live in London, are not in full time education, don’t have a degree or foundation year of university and are working less than 16 hours per week, we can support you to get the skills and qualifications you need to apply for an apprenticeship with top employers across the city.

We believe you can achieve your ambitions and overcome whatever barriers you face. And we’re here to make that possible.

‘Before City Gateway there was a lot I didn’t have in terms of skills… I guess you could say I had low self-esteem… Joining City Gateway doing courses and training with them I grew in confidence and I was able to find out about skills I didn’t have necessarily.’
Adetayo, City Gateway apprentice
