City Gateway's Women's Project
City Gateway's women's project is based at Lansbury Lodge. It is a centre with courses and events which are designed to support local women to overcome the range of barriers to employment that they may be facing. This support includes free basic skills courses, Esol and communication courses, confidence and public speaking and work taster courses.
The centre is a busy thriving place with 150 women using it every week. As well as being a place to get IAG and employment mentoring and certificates, CGWP provides women with community and belonging. Through community activities such as exercise classes and a new cafe friendships are made within and between the different groups in this culturally rich area.
The centre is approachable for all women and is committed to responding to feedback. It seeks to support ambitions and promoting flexible experience and opportunities through our volunteer placements and the Textiles and Catering Enterprises.
