There are 2 jobs for every 1 local person in Tower Hamlets but over 24% of the Borough’s population suffers from having skill levels so low they are deemed unsuitable for business. City Gateway was, in essence, setup to help overcome this skills shortage by providing young people with the basic skills they need to get on in the work place. Today our training extends to advanced IT, media and sports placements as well as specialised courses for women in the community.
Over the past 12 months we have action planned over 250 young people and registered 266 places on our various courses.
