MP Sees Barclays’ Volunteers Paint The Town Orange
Local MP Jim Fitzpatrick will this week visit City Gateway’s Limehouse Youth Centre in Tower Hamlets. 18 volunteers from Barclays Commercial Bank will be taking over the centre for the day in a decoration project which sees them brightening up the reception areas, opening up a new studio space and clearing up an outside area.
James Linforth, Partner at international law firm Denton Wilde Sapte LLP, reflects on the voluntary work his team does and how, in particular, their partnership with City Gateway is impacting the local community.
Head on down to Waitrose at Canary Wharf throughout April and you'll find City Gateway Women's Project has been picked as one of their charities of the month - they pick 3 each month and hand out £1000 to one of them dependent on how customers vote.

Andy Burnham, secretary of state for media, culture and sport, attended the 10th anniversary celebration for City Gateway, the charity provides training for local young people.
Hundreds of people attended the tenth anniversary celebratoins of a charity that provides training, skills and opportunities for women and young people in Tower Hamlets.

On March 10th some 450 of our partners, supporters and service users came together under the high glass ceiling of the East Wintergarden to help us celebrate our 10th anniversary. We’d like to thank everyone who made it along for coming and hope to see the rest of you at our next one in 2010!

ITS been 10 years since City Gateway started putting down roots in Tower Hamlets.
And the charity celebrated its first decade with a showcase event in Canary Wharf last Tuesday.
City Gateway was set up by local business people to help develop skills among disadvantaged residents of the borough.
Its annual showcase featured an appearance from secretary of state for media, culture and sport Andy Burnham, financial secretary to the Treasury Stephen Timms and Canary Wharf Group's Howard Dawber.

The government isn’t getting much by way of thanks at the moment. But as a faith based organisation I want to say thanks for a government which has always had faith in City Gateway and the people we work with. Thank you too for putting your faith in thousands of organisations like us across the UK and in millions of individuals those organisations have worked with over the years.

A CHARITY which helps people develop skills for work celebrated its tenth birthday in style.
City Gateway launched its new catering company at the bash (below) at the East Wintergarden which was attended by guests including the Secretary of State for Media, Culture & Sport Andy Burnham, the Financial Secretary of the Treasury Stephen Timms and Howard Dawber from Canary Wharf Group, who all made speeches praising the charity.
City Gateway is delighted to announce the forthcoming launch of its '10 Year Blog' which will officially begin on the 20th April 2009 with new posts added, from a real variety of commentators, every week for three months.
