Welcome to our Youth Projects
City Gateway helps the hardest to reach and most excluded young people aged 14-24, many of whom are NEET, by empowering them to overcome obstacles inlcuding a lack of skills, experience and limited aspirations. We do this by connecting, engaging and training them and providing them with the skills and opportunities to enter into work.
City Gateway Youth Services seeks to provide a full complement of services to young people, particularly those living in and around East London. We run formal training through:
- City Gateway 14-19 Provision, offering Key Stage 4 provision and Pre-employment Training for 16-18s
- Apprenticeship Programmes and Advanced Training Courses
All of formal training is accompanied by holistic and tailored support for young people.
In 2011-12 90.4% of City Gateway apprentices successfully completed their apprenticeships, 16.6% above the national average. City Gateway run a youth centre, youth training and employment projects, a women's project and children's and families project alongside a number of social enterprises to create work experience and employment opportunities for local peopl. Our Training and Employment Team, based near Tower Hill, received an Ofsted Outstanding rating in 2010/11.
City Gateway’s work has seen NEET figures in Tower Hamlets fall from 15% to 6.7%.
We operate youth work from Limehouse Youth Centre and City of London Youth Services from Greenbox and Artisan youth clubs. In all we do, our focus is to see young people progress from where we connect and engage them, through training and into the work place.
