Welcome to the Women's Project
City Gateway Women's Project is based at Lansbury Lodge; running courses and events which are designed to support local women by developing their skills, helping them overcome barriers to employment and become role models in their communities. This support includes free basic-skills courses, ESOL and communication courses, confidence, public speaking and work taster courses.
The centre is a busy, thriving place with 300 women and children using it every week. As well as being a place to get Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) and employment mentoring, CGWP provides women and their families with community and a place to belong. We do this through community activities, such as exercise classes; we also have a free crèche for women registered on our courses.
Our cafe is also a community hub, where friendships are forged within and between different groups in this culturally rich area.
The centre is a welcoming space for women and their families and are committed to meeting local needs. The staff at CGWP tailor opportunities to individual women and seek to support women into the workplace; promoting work experience and ambition through social enterprises and apprenticeship programmes.
