Mini-Site Coming Soon!
Tower Hamlets is a unique borough, home to the history of the Tower of London, the flavours of Brick Lane and the financial deals made at Canary Wharf. Yet perhaps what makes the area so special is that it is home to one of the most diverse populations found anywhere in the World.
For more than 10 years charity City Gateway has linked corporate volunteers into the local community, pioneered apprenticeship schemes and worked to bring communities together. The Perspectives art project challenges people from across those communities, whether they be CEOs or school drop-outs, to share what Tower Hamlets really means to them on just a Post-It note or with a simple picture.
Starting with a window display in Canary Wharf this March the project will enable residents to submit their own ideas online and contribute to the wider project, concluding with a larger than life display at the Limehouse Youth Centre, near Westferry DLR.
Check back here soon for the full mini-site or e-mail your own short impressions of Tower Hamlets to jerry@citygateway.org.uk to be a part of the project! You can even send us your thoughts or read other people's on Twitter: @citygateway
