Last week a group of women from City Gateway's Women's Project went on a trip to the Tower of London in partnership with Goldman Sachs.
The trip began on a high note with the 15 women and 6 Goldman Sachs volunteers enjoying a lunch prepared by the Flavor Gateway team. Fortunately the weather proved favorable, and the group set off by coach to see the Tower of London to experience a section of London’s history. This proved to be a valuable experience for the Esol (English as a Second Language) women as they were presented a chance to practice their English while at the same time learning a little more about city’s past. Overall, the women had a thoroughly enjoyable time able to enjoy a day out with friends.
The day was just one of three volunteering days that Goldman Sachs and City Gateway are running together this Summer as part of the Community Teamworks initiative.
‘Thankyou for arranging this, I had a great day, and made some friends. I loved the jewels and the queen was so beautiful in her coronation video, it made me cry. Can we go on more trips? The food was great too; I am going to book Flavour Gateway for my Mendes.’
