Employment
At City Gateway we do not just want to train and equip young people to pass through our training courses and gain qualifications - we are also dedicated to helping them get jobs.
As they grow in their skills and confidence we encourage our trainees to engage in employability training, including interview technique and CV writing, and then to progress onto work placements with partners, corporate supporters and even within City Gateway.
We have a great record of progressing young people into employment, with some very notable successes. Check out the case study below for a recent example of how Shuhel, one of our trainees, has achieved his potential following progression through City Gateway.
Case Study - Shuhel
Allen & Overy have been wonderful supporters of City Gateway and have offered many opportunities for Insight Tours around their offices and also providing some work placement opportunities for our trainees. Following a recent Insight Tour, a number of our trainees were offered work placements, and following these placements two of them were offered full-time employment in their IT Department!

He has really applied himself there and was today offered a staff contract to the end of the year!
