A new City Gateway ‘Perspectives’ project, launched at the Canary Wharf Shopping Centre this week, will challenge over 1 million people to rethink what Tower Hamlets really means to them. The project challenges them to sum up their feelings on just a Post-It note and is run by charity City Gateway, which has been linking the local community into the opportunities and resources found at the Wharf for over 10 years.

Our new marketing apprentice Zarrin is going to be writing regular blog entries for our new City Gateway Youth Facebook Page - just one of the ways we're communicating with young people on, or interested in, our courses.

We'll post roundups of some of her entries on this website too so you can all benefit from a first person insight into life with City Gateway, her first two entries follow below.

In the first video entry to our 10 Year Blog, the Hip-Hop Shakespeare company present a decidedly East End take on A History of Verse.

Coming out of a series of Hip-Hop projects the company has run at City Gateway's Limehouse Youth Centre, the video is an example of a bold new way of getting young people engaged with the history and culture around them. The free two hour class is run by, myself, Zoe Millar and Jules Marshall, two freelance drama facilitators and current volunteers at the City Gateway Women's Project. It takes place every wednesday and will run for 8 weeks.
